Grabs
sold by us are very strong & heavy duty
grabs. Since the closing force and the closing
jaw torque is higher, the digging power is
greater and therefore the production is greater
too. The most productive grab is the CMX.
This is the largest grab in the world and
which has unique systems (patented) for this
grab. For the CMX grab you need a crane of
100-120 ton with winch line pull of 30 ton.
All grabs
are fitted with maintenance free pulleys as
it has a special sealing system to work under
mud and protect the pulley bearing oil bath.
All the grabs except the CM4 have 6 pulleys
and 6 rope lines for closing, meaning that
the closing force of the grab weight is multiplied
by 6, and most importantly, the jaw closing
torque is half of the closing force multiplied
by the distance between jaw rotation shaft
and jaw rod shaft. Jaw closing torque is very
important as it measures the value of application
of force, as a large force applied in a very
short distance to rotation shaft gives a very
low result, whereas a lesser force applied
at large distance from rotation shaft can
give much better result.
The jaw closing force of
CMX, CMP and CMSP grabs are aprox 1100 KNm,
700 KNm and 450 KNm respectively. These are
VERY high when compared with standard hydraulic
grabs available in the market which normally
has an average closing torques of 400-500
KNm.
